Training

These cartoons were made for Dutch kids' newspaper 7days, for an article about trainings/educations.

I'll translate: -circus artist: "Bravo! You're the best clown student I ever had!" ...."This actually was a real accident.." -foreign language: "...He learned to speak Mandarin..." -food design: "I call it ... potatoe!" -lab animal care: Can't be translated...it's a language bound joke.

Game background

These were made for an internet game (pitch), situated in the French Alps.

Educational illustration

These are illustrations I have made for a large educational publishing company, for a pilot. In the meanwhile I have illustrated many many more images for them. But since secrecy statements are tight and the time between illustrating and publishing can be up to two years it can take a while before I can show the work. Anyway, these were created in june 2010.

Scouts compass

The Scouts Compass, produced by Young Crowds, is out. It contains several illustrations made by Doodle.nl in a different, more realistic style than the other compasses. Here are a few samples from the book.

MAD spread: DWDD

I was asked to illustrate a spread for the new Dutch MAD magazine, about popular Dutch television show 'De wereld draait door'. I had a blast because it's so much fun drawing something that so many people recognise. I hope you like it, here it is.

MAD magazine is coming to Holland. Doodle.nl was asked to illustrate a spread about popular Dutch tv-magazine 'De wereld draait door' (double meaning 'the world keeps spinning/the world goed mad'). Here's a preview.

Pitching for Ahold

Today the new 'Albert Heijn' store campaign starts and it's all about animals. So ofcourse, Doodle.nl pitched for this one through advertising agency TBWA and agent Artbox. Unfortunately my work didn't make it through the finals, but I'm still excited to show you the results here.

Here's a new cover illustration for 7days. It's about how students have to educate teachers in the use of smartphones.

Meester Korneel

Young Crowds published a new book/magazine called 'Meester Korneel', written by Jelte van der Kooi. Doodle.nl gave this extra-ordinary teacher and his class a face. To buy the book please visit Young Crowd's store.

These costume visuals were made for advertising agency 'The Public Group' and were made for a promotional trailer based on their mascotte.

New 'Junglefun' for Scouty Magazine

Here's a new comic page I made for Scouty. It's in Dutch, sorry. The idea is that Mowgli is painting, Baloo says he doesn't like it that much, Mowgli gets upset, Shere-Kan hears him yelling and thinks he is weakened, goes for the attack and than gets scared stiff by Mowgli's painting. Baloo's conclusion; A painting that impresses Shere-Kan THAT much has to be a good one.

Edwin van der Sar

Our most famous goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has just left professional football. I had to illustrate 'the four Edwin's'; winner, loser, penalty killer and family man, for an article in 7days.

For 'Vogels Junior', the youth magazine of the Dutch organisation for birdprotection, I illustrated these birds and I made a spread on 'how to draw a bird'.
